Working to improve the quality of life for people living with or affected by HIV

Brigstowe is recruiting a Fundraising and Communications Officer

Can you help write the next chapter of Brigstowe’s story?

As we celebrate 30 years of transforming lives affected by HIV, we’re looking for someone exceptional to accelerate our momentum and amplify our impact for the decades ahead. This is your opportunity to shape the future of Bristol’s specialist HIV charity at a pivotal moment in our history.

Why now matters

Three decades of expertise. A growing community. And with a vision to reach further than ever before. We’ve built something remarkable, and now we’re ready to take our fundraising and communications up a level. This role isn’t just about continuing what works—it’s about pioneering new approaches that will define our next 30 years.

Your mission

You’ll be one of the architects of Brigstowe’s community presence, securing vital support while crafting the compelling narratives that turn awareness into action. Your work will directly fuel the expansion of life-changing services and ensure everyone affected by HIV in Bristol has the support they deserve.

Your role

This dual-impact role combines two essential elements:

  1. Community Fundraising & Partnerships: Build meaningful relationships with community groups and corporate partners. Grow our ‘Friends of Brigstowe’ movement. Create memorable fundraising experiences and deliver challenge events that inspire long-term commitment and transform supporters into lifelong champions of our cause.
  1. Strategic Communications: Bring our 30-year legacy and future vision to life through powerful storytelling across all platforms—from compelling videos and impactful reports to dynamic social media and media relations that position Brigstowe at the heart of the HIV conversation.

The person we are looking for

You’re a proven community fundraiser who sees possibilities everywhere and has the creative spark to make them a reality. You understand that successful fundraising is built on authentic relationships and stories that move people to act.

You’re a natural connector who thrives on building partnerships and spotting opportunities others overlook. Your marketing and communications expertise enables you to craft content that resonates—whether you’re inspiring a corporate partner, engaging a potential donor, or celebrating a supporter’s contribution.

Self-motivated and detail-focused, you can balance the big picture with meticulous execution. You’re resilient, adaptable, and energised by the challenge of taking something good and making it exceptional.

Join us as we launch into our next 30 years—ready to make your mark?
