Treatment as prevention

Treatment as prevention is one of the biggest breakthroughs in HIV prevention of the last 10 years.

The PARTNER study conducted in 2013, took 1,100 HIV discordant couples (where one person is HIV+ and the other HIV-), monitoring 40,000 instances of condomless sex. The study profoundly illustrated that when someone who is living with HIV is adhering to medication it is virtually impossible that they will pass HIV on to their partner.
