REACT! Social Group

REACT! "Recreation and Activities" is a social group open to anyone who is, or has received, a service from Brigstowe and is HIV+.

The focus of the group is to bring people together to enjoy an event or activity with others.  It offers people an opportunity to expand their social network and to enrich their life by meeting people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Events are chosen by the group and have included trips to Bristol Zoo, bowling, theatre, Longleat, Berkeley Castle, Relaxation Centre, film evenings...

The emphasis is on fun and mutual support.

For further information about REACT! please contact the Brigstowe Project.

Become a Member

Anybody can apply to become a member. Our members are essential to the Project's work in order to make sure we are accountable and run effectively. Becoming a member is one way to ensure that people affected by HIV have a say in how the project runs.

Our membership list is confidential to the Project's staff, trustees and committee members, and will not be distributed to any other organisation.

Volunteer as a Committee Member

The Brigstowe Project is managed by a committee of volunteers. The committee meets on the last wednesday of each month, 6-8pm. Committee members can also take on specific tasks according to their skills and experience.

We are seeking enthusiastic people to join our existing committee, particularly those with experience in the Social Care Sector and the Advice Sector.  Most important is your commitment to improving the lives of people living with HIV.

Please contact our Chief Executive Jill Turner on 0117 955 5038 for an informal discussion.  Feel free to arrange a visit to us and see if you like what we do.  Alternatively email info@brigstowe.org expressing your interest.

All committee posts are voluntary and unpaid, although reasonable expenses are available.  Induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.
